Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a weekly column that explores what one can buy for a set dollar amount in various Chicago neighborhoods. We’ve found five homes at or around today’s price of $725,000. Vote for your favorite below.

Avondale

Built at the turn of the 20th century, the exterior of this sturdy-looking Avondale home screams classic Chicago. The four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath residence was recently rehabbed and sports fresh bathroom finishes, an updated kitchen, and a bright open floorplan on its main level. The $725,000 asking price includes a rear deck overlooking a small yard and a two-car garage.

River North

Buyers seeking a sleek contemporary aesthetic in a rustic timber loft setting will find plenty to like about this renovated two-bedroom condo in River North. Featuring exposed brick, timber beams, and white walls, the home has a bright, almost Scandinavian vibe. Listed at $700,000, it comes in below today’s target price but garage parking costs an additional $35,000.

Wicker Park

This historic 1883 Wicker Park two-flat is essentially a pair of homes for the price of one, allowing its owner to live in second-floor unit while generating rental income from the residence below. Behind its handsome brick exterior and updated energy efficient windows, the property features a four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and landscaped rear yard. Pick it up for $719,900.

Bronzeville

This art-filled single family home in the Oakland neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side offers an impressive 4,200 square feet of living space. Built in 1893, the renovated five-bedroom residence includes space for a home office, painting studio, and meditation room and is steps from Williams-Davis Park and Oakwood Beach. It’s asking just shy of $700,000.

Streeterville

Finished in raw concrete and floor-to-ceiling glass, this minimalist Streeterville two-bedroom is perched on the 31st floor of the Jahn-designed downtown tower at 600 N. Fairbanks. It features a small balcony, views of the lake, and access to the building’s roof deck and indoor pool. At $742,000, it’s the most expensive property in the lineup but comes with the bonus of potentially sharing a elevator with celebrity neighbor Chance the Rapper.
